Discusses everyday life aboard as well as engineering aspects of the ships, including propulsion equipment and functional problems during a storm. Also describes distances travelled, flora and fauna encountered, and ports of call, including Acapulco, Bermuda, Cuba, and Kingston, Jamaica.
